Wine of the Week Barefoot Merlot

Palo Alto Chardonnay

Was: €11.00           Now: €9.00

Grape Variety: Chardonnay
Country: USA

A couple of euro off this wine brings it nicely below my ten euro mark and it's worth every cent. This wine is fresh and fruity with hints of pear, citrus, papaya, pineapple and soft vanilla. For all those flavours this is a really well balanced wine with a sweet finish.
Wine of the Week Luis Felipe Sauv Blanc

35 Degrees South Merlot

Was: €10.99           Now: €8.50

Grape Variety: Merlot
Country: Chile

I have a real soft spot for Merlot and love to try new one's all the time. From the very first glass of this Merlot I knew it was a real winner. Spicy and fruity aromas in combination deliver a full character wine. If you are having this with a meal over the weekend makes sure it's a pasta dish with some ham. Perfect!

Carmen Left Wave Sauvignon Blanc

Was: €15.00           Now: €10.00

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Country: Chile

A really lovely Sauvignon from Chile, I really like the discount on this too, a big saving. This offers intense aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry and refreshing lime. Light in weight yet persistent and concentrated in flavour. Try this with your next roast chicken dinner!

Wine of the Week Brancott Sauv Blanc

Wyndham Estate Bin 555 Shiraz

Was: €14.69           Now: €12.00

Grape Variety: Shiraz
Country: Australia

Not an obvious choice for an Australian red wine but once you try you will see why its on the list. A little above my tenner mark but I really think its worth the extra couple of euro. This is a full bodied Shiraz packed with rich plum and ripe berry fruit along with a hint of spice. This pairs well with red meat, pizza or any tomato based pasta.
Wine of the Week Campo Viejo Tempranillo

Two Oceans Sauvignon Blanc

Was: €10.99           Now: €8.99

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Country: South Africa

Every time I try a South African Sauvignon I was make a promise to myself to discover more wines from this region. Crisp, fresh and elegant with upfront tropical fruit, tangy gooseberry, a hint of green fig and fresh cut grass. Pair it with seafood, pasta and poultry dishes.
Wine of the Week Campo Viejo Tempranillo

Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon

Was: €12.50           Now: €10.00

Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon
Country: Chile

One of Chile's better known labels and the Cabernet is particularly good. A nice little discount here brings in down to €10 so well worth it. This is a gorgeous full-bodied wine with layers of cassis and black cherry fruit, together with a delicious hint of coffee and dark chocolate. This is a great match with beef or lamb.
Wine of the Week Cepas Privadas Sauv Blanc

Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc

Was: €14.99           Now: €10.00

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Country: New Zealand

A New Zealand Sauvignon that everyone knows but with this discount I just can't leave it out. Bold, ripe aromas of fresh cut grass and passion fruit. A dry fruit driven wine with intense flavours, this wine can be enjoyed on its own. If you do want to match it with some food than go for the classic seafood, white fish would be my choice.
Wine of the Week Castellani Arbos

Rare Vineyards Malbec

Was: €12.99           Now: €9.99

Grape Variety: Malbec
Country: France

Argentina maybe be famous for Malbec but this one shows that French haven't completely lost when it comes to making this great wine. France is the true home of Malbec and this velvety, overtly fruity wine with violet aromas and some spice on the palate shows just that. Try with your next BBQ.
