The sun is going to make an appearance this weekend (fingers crossed) and there’s nothing I would like more than sitting in the back garden sipping a nice Sauvignon.

We’ve selected some great wines with fantastic discounts, so just take a quick look and see what wine to get and where to get it.

Rare Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc

Was: €12.99           Now: €10.00

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Country: France

I have a real soft spot for this wine, a really tasty French Sauvignon that is great value for money. This wine makes for a tasty aperitif with it's refreshing, crisp grapefruit flavours and clean finish. Nice intensity and quite lively with persistent citrus notes. If the weather stays nice I'll be sipping this in the back garden at the weekend.

Cantina Tombacco Aglianico Beneventano

Was: €12.99           Now: €10.00

Grape Variety: Aglianico
Country: Italy

An unusual wine made from a grape variety you don't hear about very often. This is definitely something a  bit different but I would strongly recommend giving it a go. This wine is a dark, deep ruby red with enjoyable cherry and red berries fragrance followed by a marked vanilla and spicy notes. Pairs beautifully with all roasted red meats and aged cheeses.

Los Cardos Sauvignon Blanc

Was: €12.50           Now: €10.00

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Country: Chile

Another Sauvignon but this one comes from Chile, it's a well respected label that produces high quality wines. You get very intense aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit, lime and white peach. In the mouth, this is a fresh, balanced, highly vivacious and persistent wine. Try this with the usual suspects of fish and salad or it works well on its own.
Wine of the Week Barefoot Merlot

Yellow Tail Shiraz

Was: €10.99           Now: €9.50

Grape Variety: Shiraz
Country: Australia

A popular one here from down under and if you haven't already tried then please give this Shiraz a go at the weekend. This is packed with sunny flavours of ripe blackcurrants and sweet plum fruit. It's an easy going red, soft enough to enjoy without food but loves tomato-based pasta dishes too.

Wolf Blass Red Label Chardonnay Semillon

Was: €13.49           Now: €10.00

Grape Variety: Chardonnay, Semillon
Country: Australia

The red label from Wolf Blass is one that I particularly like and this white grape blend is a real beauty. The aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and fresh cut grass is joined by subtle oak to provide a drink for all occasions. I just love this with a roast chicken or even some duck. You can also serve it some nice soft cheese.
Wine of the Week Brancott Sauv Blanc

Carmen Reserva Pinot Noir

Was: €15.00           Now: €10.00

Grape Variety: Pinot Noir
Country: Chile

Fantastic reduction on this wine bringing it right down to my favourite price point of €10! To good to be missed. This is a very smooth, easy to drink that is soft and plummy. If you haven't really tried Pinot Noir before then this is a great place to start. It's full of fruit flavours and will accompany lots of red meat dishies.
Wine of the Week Campo Viejo Tempranillo

Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Was: €14.99           Now: €10.99

Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
Country: New Zealand

New Zealand Sauvignons are always really popular and this one is up there with the best of them. Bold, ripe, aromas of fresh cut grass and passion fruit. A dry, fresh, fruit driven wine with intense flavours. These wine has enough flavour going on it can be easily drunk on its own but try it with a salad or some seafood and it really comes into its own.

Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon x 2

Was: €25.00           Now: €18.00

Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon

You can't beat Molloys double deals for great value and they always pick really nice wines. This is a very recognisable wine and if you get a very tasty €7 off when you buy the two! A gorgeous full-bodied Cabernet from Chile, with layers of cassis and black cherry fruit, together with a delicious hint of coffee and dark chocolate. This is wonderful match for slow-cooked beef or lamb dishes.
